Examiner: Hertz Car Rentals is expanding their local off-airport neighborhood locations.

JH: Hertz is approaching around 3,000 off-airport neighborhood locations across the United States. We are committed to being where our customers live more than just an airport rental company.

Examiner: Where are your neighborhood locations?

JH: We are the first company to rent a car with live face-to-face Express Rental video kiosks in hotels and other commercial locations. The customer speaks to a real person.

You complete the entire transaction from the credit card, filling out the rental agreement and the receipt and all the steps for a full service rental experience at the kiosk. It is as though someone was standing in front of you answering your questions. This is just another way of Hertz getting you on the road.

We have cars conveniently located at auto body and collision repair shops. This enables our customers to have access to a car while theirs is in the shop.

Many neighborhood locations service the replacement market place.
When there is an accident or an issue with the car, bring it
in for service. We pick up customers and bring them back.

Examiner: One of the Hertz Car Rental locations is four blocks from my home. This saved a long drive to the airport. I picked up the car near my home and dropped it off near my office. Customers don’t have to pick up and drop off the cars at the same location.

JH: We recognize the need for rental cars is very real in the neighborhoods as well. Our goal is to fulfill the needs of our customers traveling on the road or flying to airports.

Examiner: Some times you do not even have to go to the neighborhood car rental locations. Customers could pick up the car on the street near their home.

JH: Customers have an access device they can swipe to get in the car.
Our Hertz 24/7 service offers several ways to access your car. A pin pad would be placed on the windshield. When you make your reservation and receive your four-digit pin-number, punch the pin in right there on the street.

At many of our newer locations, we are opening key lockers and Express Rental video kiosks. If you went to these neighborhood location 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week you could reach one of our award-winning customer service agents through the video kiosk. You would have access to a key in a key locker or receive an access card from a machine.

Examiner: That is comforting, people never know when they will need to rent a car.
Your 24/7 service is like being in Las Vegas, open 24/7.

How is Hertz Car Rentals different from the other companies?

JH: The thing that separates Hertz from everyone else is one, the quality of the vehicles, and two, the speed we get you on the road. People just want to get into the car and go. If there are any issues at any time, reach out to our professionally trained employees to make it right. Hertz has a great reputation since 1919.

John Holt

As Sr. Vice President, Off-Airport Operations, John Holt is responsible for all North American Off-Airport Operations, a business that generates revenues of approximately $1 billion annually at more than 2,600 locations.

Mr. Holt was hired by Hertz in 1995 as a City Manager in San Diego, California. He progressed through the company in various leadership roles including Territory Manager in Los Angeles, California, Director of Field Operations at Park Ridge and Sr. Director of Off-Airport Operations, General Manager of Off-Airport Operations in Southeast Florida.
