Heroin in a Happy Meal? Of all places to push an illegal drug, an employee from a Pittsburg-based McDonald’s chose to hide heroin in children’s meals, selling the drug to users who uttered a secret code phrase in the restaurant’s drive-thru lane.
According to a report from The Associated Press on Wednesday, the employee sold heroin in the child-oriented Happy Meals to customers who used the coded request "I'd like to order a toy."
A sting was set up by undercover agents at the McDonald's in the East Liberty section of the city, and were successful in purchasing the drug from 26-year-old Shania Dennis.
Dennis reportedly denied wrongdoing to reporters as she was being led away in handcuffs, despite the fact authorities indicated she sold them 10 bags of heroin in their Happy Meal and discovered another 50 bags hidden in the store.
Patty-flipper Dennis, of East Pittsburgh, slipped the smack in the Happy Meal box in exchange for $82. Authorities said she placed $2 in the register and stuffed the rest in her bra.
Minimum wage can be tough, but selling smack in kid's meals? Classy.
Dennis was booked on charges of possession, delivery and possession with intent to deliver.
