A few months ago, rumors circulated online that the popular television series "Heroes," would be receiving a reboot and now it looks like the rumors were not far off from the truth. On Saturday, February 22 Entertainment Weekly reported that the television drama "Heroes" will be returning to NBC in 2015 with a new thirteen episode series from creator Tim Kring.
The new project will be a stand alone story called "Heroes Reborn" and will be marketed as a miniseries. The original series was canceled after three seasons and Kring mentioned that he will be adding to his original concept for the series with the new installment.
The original series ran from 2006 to 2010 and followed the lives of several individuals across the globe that discover they have extraordinary abilities. The series starred Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Ali Larter, Masi Oka, and Greg Grunberg. Actor Zachary Quinto also starred as the villain Sylar.
It's possible that cast members from the original series will return for "Reborn," but nothing has been confirmed yet as the series is just now being publicly announced. The first promo for the series aired during the Sochi Olympics coverage on NBC and can be viewed here.
