Grandchildren were also encouraged to “love” on grandparents every day, and grandparents were encouraged to share their wisdom.
Hampton, GA – September 09, 2013 also kicked off the inaugural episode of the Dutchtown Middle School (DMS), Career Day Talk Show, interviewing Henry County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Ethan Hildreth.
Instead of a one-day career focus disrupting instruction all day, the DMS counselors have initiated a format of monthly interviews with professionals in multiple career areas. The interviews broadcast live over closed circuit TV, with the help of Media Specialist, Ms. Esaw, and her talented WDMS broadcast crew.
Career professionals will be asked questions about various aspects of their careers, a few examples they could be asked are:
- How did you get interested in that career?
- What is a typical work day like for you?
- Would you change anything about what you are doing?
- What school subjects are beneficial to your career, and how do you use what you learned in school in your career?
- What personal characteristics are important to have in your career?
As well as their thoughts on the DMS Character Word focus of the month. The talk show segments will continue on a monthly basis throughout the school year.
