Hero Of Order will now begin his breeding career at Gennadi and Irina Dorochenko's Raut Farm starting with the 2014 breeding season. His stallion fee has been set at $3,000.
Hero Of Order is by Sharp Humor out of Ocean Sprite by Ocean Crest. He is the first stallion to stand at Raut Farm in Paris, Kentucky. His owner, Gennadi Dorochenko, is a born Russian who was a former jockey. He purchased Hero of Order at the remarkable bargain price of $3,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale and has trained the horse throughout his 24 races.
Dorochenko said, “When I first bought this horse, he showed a lot of potential, a lot of class. He's the best son of Sharp Humor, he has good bloodlines, and a great exterior."
Bred in Kentucky by Wind Hill Farm, Hero Of Order finished his racing career with a record of 2-3-2 out of 24 starts. His total earnings came to $747,822.
Dorochenko plans on breeding some of his own broodmares to Hero Of Order. He has also fielded numerous inquiries from other horsemen who have an interest in his stallion. He said, “If I get around 25 babies every year, I would be happy."
"I have a good feeling about him because he's a great horse," Dorochenko said.
