The Belly Fat Cure diet has some skeptical as to if it could really work. But celebrity fitness trainer Jorge Cruise claims that losing weight has nothing to do with calorie counting, eating less, or exercising more. This eating plan he invented consists of protein, fats and vegetables. You may also intake small amounts of sugar and complex carbs. Processed foods with sweeteners (artificial or natural) are out but wine, beer, champagne, and dark chocolate are okay. But cocktails and candy bars are out as well. Jorge Cruise wrote a book called ‘The Belly Fat Cure’ which depicts the diet more thoroughly.
An example of the day to day eating with this diet is:
- Breakfast: 3 eggs, 2 slices buttered toast
- Snack: handful of walnuts
- Lunch: Tuna salad on one piece of pita bread
- Snack: 1 cup of cottage cheese with honey
- Dinner: Grilled chicken or steak, sautéed veggies and ½ cup of brown rice
While on this diet it is advised to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. While researching this diet many were surprised that skim milk, 100% fruit juice and most fresh fruits are depicted as “belly bad”. The only fruits allowed on this diet are blackberries and blueberries due to their low sugar content. Normally fruits are considered healthy because of all the nutrients they contain. But Jorge Cruise claims you can get the same nutrients from vegetables without the sugar in fruit. The diet also claims that once you reach your goal weight you can add up to two pieces of fruit each day.
