At Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course, the seventh hole is par four. My scorecard indicates that the average distance from the blue teeing ground to the putting green is 422 yards. Four hundred ten yards is the average distance from the red teeing ground. This hole has a #4, course hole handicap. (Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course is at 3600 N. Recreation Drive in Chicago, Ill.)
This hole’s fairway begins pointing southwest, and then points south. This is because it has a left dogleg. This dogleg begins at approximately ½ the distance from the rear, blue teeing ground—211 yards.
This fairway is somewhat narrow. Closely spaced trees are on both sides. On the right side, North Lake Shore Drive is less than 500 feet away.
In the fairway’s, first section, before the dogleg, there are two, medium size sand bunkers, one on each side. On this golf course’s scorecard, both bunkers look like white socks. (The Chicago White Sox have not designated these bunkers with their name.) The right bunker begins at approximately 150 yards from the rear teeing ground. The left bunker begins at approximately 160 yards from the rear teeing ground.
This fairway’s, second section lacks any sand bunkers. Although there are still trees on both sides, they are less closely spaced. This fairway section narrows as it approaches the putting green.
The medium size putting green has three sand bunkers on its sides. On the left side is a medium size bunker that extends the green’s length. On the right side are two bunkers, both medium sizes. The first bunker extends from the green’s front to its middle. The second bunker extends from the middle, and curves halfway around the green’s rear.
