Scott Voss, as played by Kevin James is a high school Biology teacher who wants to save friend and fellow teacher Marty Streb, played by Henry Winkler from losing funds for the 60-player music department, which is sorely in need of better instruments.
The budget cuts would also 86 Winkler's job, whose wife is quite possibly pregnant.
Hence, James learns to be a mixed-martial arts fighter and wins enough money to save Winkler's job and his music program for the betterment of the school. Or, does he?
Here Comes the Boom is somewhat sappy. But, it's a decent watch.
Bella: A little jambalaya for Momma?
Marty: If you're gonna lose, then I'm gonna help you lose. Deal?
Marty: That's what we're supposed to do as teachers, inspire.
Marty: Without music, life would be a mistake.
Miguel: I citizen two times!
Scott: All that decays can be restored.
Scott: Can someone tell me what happens when a cell stagnates?
Scott: I don't think my body can take 30 more fights.
Scott: I'm bringing the boom!
Scott: Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a class to teach. Then, I gotta roll around with a sweaty guy from Holland.
Scott: This never happened, okay?
Scott: You don't want me to get hurt. I get that.
Scott: You get that beard in hot water, you got Ramen.
Lauren: Pig!
Eric: Ostrich.
