'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' drama: Mama June fears mayonnaise (Video)

On Jan. 6, Honey Boo Boo may not be perceived as the clan's most intriguing person when the family return to the small screen. During the first episode of the new year as seen in a new promo, Mama June is forced to face her fears on TLC. In doing so, Honey Boo Boo's parent freaks out at the sight of mayonnaise.

Yes, mayonnaise. OK, so this isn't all that unusual since "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is a wacky television show and the members of this reality show family who live in rural Georgia often surprise with the quirkiest of dilemmas.

That said, when Mama June discloses the reason she is scared of the gooey condiment, nobody seems all that impressed but, instead, pull a prank on their mom who can't stand to see this stuff. Oh, June can eat mayo, but she has to make sure it is disguised in some way, say, in something like tuna salad where you can't actually tell how the fish is made into a mush.

With that in mind and to freak her out and perhaps get her to face what scares her, the kids expose their mama to a giant bowl of mayonnaise. At the sight of it, June goes into a full on panic attack. Honey Boo Boo doesn't help the situation when she says her mom's face has turned as white as the condiment she truly fears.

So what is the rationale behind why Mama is so traumatized by this particular food stuff?

June tells her story of a childhood memory that made her afraid in the promo for tonight's episode called "The Scary Mayonnaise." She said that when she was a kid her babysitter made her eat mayonnaise sandwiches for every meal. She ate them for breakfast, she ate them for lunch, and she ate them for dinner. This caused a mean fallout between mama and mayonnaise.

Daughter Jessica (otherwise known as Chubbs) thinks this fear is "stupid" and compares mayonnaise to ketchup except that "it's white." With that, her mother asks why Jessica doesn't eat it and Chubbs retorts, "Because I'm a vegetarian."

With the new promo as an enticement to tune in, watch the 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' drama tonight in its entirety when a special airs, showing exactly why and how Mama June fears mayonnaise.
