Kirk Nieuwenhuis went 4-for-5, raising his average to .330 and Lucas Duda went 2-for-4 with an RBI but the Bisons lost for the fourth time in their last five games, 7-2 to Lehigh Valley on Sunday afternoon.
The Herd outhit the IronPigs 11-6, but went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position, stranding 12 baserunners.
Starting pitcher Chris Schwinden picked up his first loss of the season after giving up four earned runs in 5.1 innings, including a critical three-run homerun to Lehigh Valley shortstop Kevin Frandsen in the sixth inning.
Reliever Taylor Tankersley, who had been lights out all of April, had his worst outing of the season, yielding three runs on two hits and two walks in an inning of work.
The Bisons have two more games against the IronPigs in Allentown then come home for their first scheduled day off of the season on Wednesday before opening an eight-game homestand against Louisville and Scranton Wilkes-Barre.
