Don't you just love it when a home grown company does well. That's exactly what's happened with Los Angeles hair care creator herbalosophy. The company is flourishing after less than a year in business because the products are simply sensational, or at least the shampoo and conditioner most recently tested by your LA Beauty Products Examiner.

I discovered the brand during Secret Room MTV Movie awards swag event at the SLS Hotel last month where I was given a shampoo and conditioner to sample. I finally got it around to it yesterday (your Examiner has a whole of product testing going on). The results were phenomenal. But I must confess after washing my hair with the Balance Shampoo it didn’t feel too silky. That changed quickly after I applied the conditioner. I did my testing at Crunch where I work out regularly. I picked the club for my experiment because I like to take a team bath while the conditioner is on my hair, it makes the product absorb better. After my steam I rinsed the Replenish Conditioner out and my hair felt so soft and silky and really shined (see photo).

What makes herbalosophy different according to Roni from herbalosophy, whom I met at the gifting lounge, is “We use the power of nature to tame the damages to hair caused by heat, chemicals and the environment. Our motto is Beauty in Balance. We bring damaged hair back to balance using herbs and proteins that hydrate, strengthen and nourish.” Roni also explained her products are natural, safe and free of sulfates , parabens and phosphates.

The company offers an extensive selection of hair care products which you can learn more about by going to www.theherbalosophy.com and like us at www.facebook.com/TheHerbalosophy on Twitter at www.twitter.com/TheHerbalosophy. I'm hoping to sample a few more of the products for review. In the meantime my next column will be a second look at The Art of Shaving which operates a cool shop in Beverly Hills.
