Beginning August 18 and running through Sept. 17, Pinsir and Heracross will be available for download for “Pokemon X & Y,” Nintendo and the Pokemon Company announced on the game’s official site yesterday.

Both Pokemon will not be available to gamers as owners of “Pokemon X,” will receive Heracross, while “Pokemon Y” owners will receive Pinsir, via the game’s “Mystery Gift” option,

According to Nintendo, neither Pokemon will have their mega stones or other items in-hand, but you can head to your nearest Gamestop store from Aug. 18-31 where you can receive a code (located on Gamestop’s flyer) that will unlock a Heraconite or a Pinsirite to help your Pokemon mega evolve.

Heracross

If you've never used the "Mystery Gift" function before, here are the steps necessary to get the Pokemon into your game:

Step 1. Connect your system in the Nintendo 3DS family to the Internet.
Step 2. Select MYSTERY GIFT on the main menu.
Step 3. Select RECEIVE GIFT, then YES.
Step 4. Select GET VIA INTERNET, then YES.
Step 5. Watch as you receive Heracross (Pokémon X) or Pinsir (Pokémon Y)!
Step 6. Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokémon Center to add Heracross or Pinsir to your party.
Step 7. Be sure to save your game!
