In her mid-twenties, Emma Mildon is already a recognized columnist and author. Her success is commendable but her story of triumph is life altering. Emma coped through loss in her teen years. Her unwavering determination and faith gifted an outlook we can all admire.
In her words, “Adoption, cancer, losing a mother, depression - I wouldn't give one back – they’ve all shaped me into a more intone, understanding, open, loving, spirit being. I have a sense of selflessness I’ve never experienced before. I need to help others and share unconditional love.
I don't know why people call them 'blue' times, these are the times for brightness, reinvention, self discovery, and spiritual enlightenment. The universe has given you a kick to seek something.”
Emma discussed her passion and credentials, “I think life has a sense of humor - sometimes we ask our self why we are studying, working, meeting people, I call it our jigsaw. All the courses I studied, people I met, opportunities and challenges that were put in front of me all connect to my divine purpose in life - to write.
It’s no coincidence I studied a Communications Degree, specializing in Public Relations and Journalism. I learned to write and promote myself - two vital skills for an Author. Losing my mother made me curious about relationships, love, death, rebirth, spirituality, meditation, grief, depression - so it was only natural that all of my columns investigated all of these questions about life. All of these experiences and the content produced from them connected me to other Authors, Editors, Publishers, Columnists, Bloggers, Websites, and Magazines, all giving me the door to start spreading my story.”
She described her purpose, “Going through this life changing experience as a teen has left me wanting to communicate with teens. I write advice columns called Why Do Men Have Nipples about love, life, sex and love for a teen site called 247girl. Now, my book, License to Love is set for the same target group – tweens (early twenties and teenagers).
I am currently working on my next book, Journal of a Soul Searcher which is a fun teen read about love, love lost, travel and finding yourself and love again.
I think the teenagers today are the love generation, they’re curious and open to spirituality, we just need to produce the content to feed it to them.”
