Her journey, one of rebirth

Janet Perez Eckles rediscovered herself after suffering tremendous loss.  Her journey is one of rebirth and it offers testimony that miracles do exist.  May you find strength and inspiration through her story.

Janet introduced herself, “I’d like to say I’m an author and international speaker, but those are my titles. Who I really am is an ordinary gal who had the privilege to taste the sweetness of triumph after the bitterness of sorrow and adversity.”

She shared, “At 31, a retinal disease took my sight completely. My husband wasn’t prepared for such trauma and left me. Years later, financial devastation followed and then, the murder of my 19 year-old son turned my world upside down.”

Janet talked about hope, “When I cried out to God for help, a verse in the Bible filtered through my broken heart: ‘Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added unto you,’ Matthew 6:33.  My priorities were re-defined, my hope renewed and the path to restoration was sweet.”

The Bible offered her comfort.

She explained, “The promise in the Bible that God would be the one who would meet my needs, his reassurance brought back the confidence I needed. I didn’t have to fear tomorrow, fret about the next steps I would take, nor worry about who would provide for all my needs.”

Janet continues to honor her loss, “I look back with immense gratitude and see how God’s hand brushed over each situation with healing, comfort, peace, guidance and unexpected success.”

She now works to help others.

Janet’s passion, “To teach, inspire and empower others to look beyond their circumstances, and with boldness, know there is no obstacle one cannot overcome, no mountain one cannot climb and no fear one cannot conquer.”

Her advice, “Take a deep breath, look up, trust in God, know that for every tragedy there is a triumph, for every affliction there is an answer, and a treasure awaits after every trial.  The secret is to believe, receive God's Word, and follow His instructions.”

Janet’s closing words, “Through my keynote messages and stories published in more than 28 books, I demonstrate that we fail to see the answers, solutions and healing when we focus on the circumstance. When I learned to look beyond my blindness, I saw the best of life!
