Henry, the tortured chihuahua, who has a much bigger capacity to forgive compared to his petite size has been adopted and can now look forward to a life of tail wags, treats, and puppy smiles reported Channel 9 News. com.
According to the Denkai Animal Sanctuary in Eaton, Colo. where Henry had been relocated to help with his recovery, the pint sized pooch is making a lot of progress. In a recent press release, the dog who just a few weeks earlier had been found wandering the streets of Clovis, N.M. with chemical burns all over his face, paws, legs, and belly area, was still sweet and learning how to trust humans again.
"He is still soooo sweet. He wants to be loved on and will walk up to you then close his eyes and brace himself just hoping for a gentle touch. I love him though, he forgave humans and just wants snuggles! He was burned so bad his eyes were swollen shut. He can see now just fine, and is healing up, still lots of healing to do but doing well."
To make matters even worse, the tiny pooch had also been used for target practice as BB gun pellets were found embedded in his chest.
No one has ever been arrested for the egregious assault on Henry, but in spite of his terrible experiences, this spunky little two-year-old is learning to move on with his life.
Live long and have a wonderful life Henry.
