Henry Rollins hosts two specials for National Geographic Channels

Henry Rollins has teamed up with National Geographic to appear in two of the cable channels’ series, Nat Geo Wild and the prestigious Explorer series.

Explorer: Born to Rage will feature Rollins, former front man of the 80s punk band Black Flag, as he investigates research into the so-called "warrior gene," a single gene found only in men that some scientists think is a possible indicator of violent behavior.

Having struggled with feelings of aggression his whole life, Henry is on a mission to find out if his rage is the product of his upbringing, or if it's in his genes. Rollins is tested for the gene in the special and goes in search of gene carriers recruiting a colorful cast of characters in his quest for the truth: outlaw bikers, mixed martial arts fighters, Buddhist monks, gang-bangers and the most aggressive NFL linebacker of them all, Dick Butkus.

The results turn assumptions about violent behavior upside down.

Nat Geo Wild, a show dedicated to providing a unique insight into the natural world with behind the scenes look at wildlife and nature, uncovers the little-known world of snake obsession in America for an upcoming special, Snake Underworld.

As more and more Americans bring deadly snakes into their homes, some legally, and some illegally, Rollins guides viewers through the underbelly of snake obsession, revealing just how far some people will go to get their hands on the most dangerous snake species on the planet.

"I have enjoyed partnering with the Nat Geo Channels for an in-depth look at both fascinating topics,” Rollins said in a released statement.

"Who ever thought that I'd get to investigate two of my favorite subjects, anger and snakes, with National Geographic?”

Henry Rollins currently hosts a weekly radio show on L.A.'s renowned NPR affiliate KCRW, is a regular contributor to VanityFair.com and to LA Weekly in his current home of Los Angeles.

Explorer: Born to Rage premieres Tuesday, December 14, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on the National Geographic Channel.

Snake Underworld premieres in early 2011 on Nat Geo WILD.
