Any bag you could ever possibly want was on display at the Summer 2013 Preview at Henri Bendel last week. Clutches, totes, beach bags, hobos - and, most importantly, a stately shopper with a compartment for one's iPad that zips on and off the front ($298). This would be an excellent way to get some work done on the way out to Montauk on the Hampton Jitney.
Against a backdrop of cupcakes from Baked by Melissa and scented candles, the preview felt the way all good previews should - like a mini-vacation. Summer is coming, people. A statement necklace made with raffia-twine, black cord, distressed-looking stones, and powerful rhinestones would look as good at a beachfront BBQ as it would at cocktails at sunset ($398). The Out The Door wristlet would be a wise addition to any wardrobe - besides carrying the bare essentials for a night out, it would also look just right with the pared-down outfits of summer ($118). And the HB Cabana tote would be good with a polo shirt and jeans, a bikini, or a little black sundress ($178).
These new items will arrive starting in April through June. Don't be afraid to turn your summer wardrobe around by splurging at Bendel's.
