Hennessey Corvette ZR1 review and test drive

A quick review and test drive of the Hennessey Corvette ZR1 leads to one word, amazing. The performance built into the vehicle from GM stock is enough to push the limits, let alone a Hennessey ZR700 performance package to top things off. The Hennessey performance package for the Corvette ZR1 includes a supercharger pulley and blower snout upgrade, K&N air filter, custom ECU tune, stainless steel headers, high flow catalytic converters and mid pipes, and a set of Hennessey emblems and floor matts complete with custom Hennessey Dyno tune report. The complete package is available at HennesseyPerformance.com and is good for 705 horsepower at 6400 RPM and 717 lb-ft of torque at 3800 RPM.

To get a good understanding of just how fast this car is, check out the following standing mile run of the Hennessey Corvette ZR1 Z700. A huge bang for buck deal, this low end power upgrade offers plenty of speed and power on the Corvette ZR1 chassis. An additional ZR750 upgrade is available for the most hardcore users demanding top performance from their ZR1. The ZR750 upgrade package features 755 horsepower and 730 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to Corvette engineering, Hennessey Performance is the ultimate.

Watching the dyno video above, you can see the raw power emitted from the ultimate in ZR1 performance, Hennessey. A quick pull shows just how much improvement is made over stock considering the rev and sound gains. Much more throttle response, better sound, and an intensely upgraded butt dyno feeling, the Hennessey Performance package ZR700 is awesome. Not many vehicles will be able to keep up with the ZR700 on the track or strip if properly driven. The test drive footage below shows race car driver John Heinricey taking the ZR700 out on the track for a quick test drive.

Nimbly handling corners and accelerating through the perfectly placed gears, the ZR1 takes the track with ease. You can see the low end power combined with top end horsepower provided by Hennessey can really improve the overall driving experience of the stock ZR1. The stock ZR1 is still a very fast vehicle, but it comes from the factory "tame" for everyday drivers. By upgrading the performance of the fastest Corvette ever produced, the ultimate driving experience can be attained. Just imagine the power and feel of driving a Corvette ZR1 with the ZR700 performance package. Ah, the joy.
