Henderson-Machida winner to fight Jones-Sonnen victor for UFC championship (Video)

According to a Feb. 21 report from MMA Junkie, the winner of the UFC 157 tilt between Dan Henderson and Lyoto Machida will take on the man who comes out on top of the Jon Jones vs Chael Sonnen clash, for a UFC light heavyweight championship title.

"Whoever wins that fight will fight the winner of Jones-Sonnen," UFC President Dana White said, referring to the UFC 159 headliner between champ Jon Jones and challenger Chael Sonnen.

UFC 157 takes place on Feb. 23 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. The event's main card, including Henderson vs. Machida, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FX and Facebook.

While Jones is favored to beat Sonnen, White wouldn't be surprised if Henderson ends up fighting "The American Gangster" for the UFC light heavyweight strap.

"It's very, very, very feasible," White said of a bout between Henderson and Sonnen. "Those guys were actually talking smack to each other when this fight happened."

Jones is set to fight Sonnen on Apr. 23 in Newark, New Jersey, in the main event of UFC 159.

White said there are other contenders waiting in the wings, such as Swedish standout Alexander Gustafsson.

"One of them could wind up hurt," White said of Jones, Henderson and Sonnen. "You just never know what's going to happen."
