Henderson County sex offender out on bond after violating supervision conditions

A Henderson County man is out on bond tonight after violating conditions under supervision as a registered sex offender, Fox Carolina reported January 30.

A North Carolina sex offender website shows Stephen Carl Harner, 30, of East Flat Rock, was convicted of sexual battery in December 2007. He is now facing charges after picking up his girlfriend's daughter at her school.

According to Chief Deputy Frank Stout, Harner has been in and out of trouble with the Henderson County Sheriff's office this year.

*On January 10 Harner was arrested for failing to notify a change of address with the sex offender registry
*On January 10 Harner was arrested for driving on a revoked driver's license
*On January 15 Harner was charged with being on school premises without authorization
*On January 29 Harner was arrested and charged with picking up his girlfriend's daughter on school property

Harner posted a $16,000 bond for his latest charge, and is out until a hearing in February.
