Brian K. Thomas, 22, of Gladys Avenue, was arraigned Aug. 22 at First District Court in Hempstead and ordered remanded to custody without bail.
Detectives arrested Thomas in connection with a shooting that occurred on Aug. 5. According to cops, Thomas fired multiple gunshots at a 20-year-old man in front of the victim’s home on Henry Street in Hempstead.
The victim, who was struck by numerous bullets, remains hospitalized Friday in critical, but stable condition, cops said.
Thomas was arrested Wednesday after Hempstead Village police officers spotted him entering a car on Fulton Avenue. They were able to take him into custody without incident.
He was charged with attempted murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and is due back in court on Aug. 26.
