Universal Studios Home Entertainment is the first studio to do what no other studio has done before. Listening to consumer feedback, the studio has decided to ask consumers for their vote on the next DVD movie to finally be released on Blu-ray for the first time.

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has narrowed down the choices to ten contenders and is taking votes on Facebook. The contenders are:

  • Animal House
  • Back to the Future
  • Backdraft
  • The Big Lebowski
  • The Blues Brothers
  • The Breakfast Club
  • Fast Times at Ridgemont High
  • Lost in Translation
  • Meet the Parents
  • Psycho

Just to sweeten the honey pot even more, Universal Studios Home Entertainment is offering a coupon that is $5 off any Universal Studios Home Entertainment or Focus Features or Rogue Pictures Blu-ray movie title. The coupon expires on May 30, 2010.

The Breakfast Club

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of The Breakfast Club, it will be released on Blu-ray for the first time on August 3, 2010!

Special features will include:

  • Feature commentary with Judd Nelson and Anthony Michael Hall
  • Sincerely Yours: A 12-part documentary with Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy and other cast members as they reflect on the making of The Breakfast Club. Revisit these unforgettable characters and hear filmmakers such as Amy Heckerling (Clueless) and Diablo Cody (Juno) discuss the cultural resonance of the film.
  • The Most Convenient Definitions – The Origins of the Brat Pack: Cast members, journalists and film historians discuss the "Brat Pack" label and its impact on pop culture and the group's careers.

  • My Scenes - Bookmark your favorite scenes from the movie.
  • BD-Live

All the special features, except for My Scenes and BD-Live content, are already in The Breakfast Club (Flashback Edition) on DVD.

To vote:

  1. Sign into your Facebook account. If you do not have one, register for a new Facebook account.
  2. Go to Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Facebook page and become a fan.
  3. Click the Vote Now tab.
  4. Make your decision and choose the movie title you wish to vote for. If you are undecided, feel free to watch the trailers.
  5. After you vote, a form wil appear for you to fill out.
  6. After submitting the form, you will be able to print out your $5 coupon. You may be prompted to install a coupon printing program. It is legit and free from viruses and malware so you can install the software without any concerns.
  7. You can use the Back button on your browser to go back and print the coupon a second time. You are only allowed to print out the coupon twice. Each coupon has a unique identifying code at the upper right hand corner.
  8. You can use the coupons at any brick and mortar store that generally accepts manufacturer's coupons.
