Help the RAR send Stuart home for the holidays

A few weeks ago I reported on a sad little dog name Stuart (RAR working on adoption projects in Romania). Today I received an update on little Stuart from Romania Animal Rescue CEO Nancy Janes and the news makes a happy Christmas story.

Stuart was one of several dogs RAR was trying to shelter in Timisoara, Romania. All of these dogs were found roaming around the railroad tracks, however, Stuart was the worst case. Mange had made him lose all his fur, he was infested with fleas and grossly under weight. However, something about his hopeful, trusting eyes made the shelter caregivers and the local vet want to help him.

Under the care of Dr. Aurelian and the kind people of the new Timisoara shelter along with assistance from the RAR, Stuart has made a full recovery! His fur has come back and he plays just like any other puppy. To see him today, no one would guess the horrible conditions under which he was found.

Now for Stuart comes the next task. Stuart has a new home and family in Florida waiting for him, but he needs help to get there. Nancy Janes and RAR are asking for donations to secure Stuart's trip to his new home. Janes says it will take only $500.

"If just ten humans donate $50 [Stuart] can get there," Janes writes. To donate, click on this donate page link to the RAR. Donors can designate their contribution goes to the "Transport Dogs for Adoption" fund, along with several other funds donors can help with.

Romania Animal Rescue is US non-profit founded by Nancy Janes of California to support dog and cat spays and neuters in the European country of Romania, a country that is overrun by dogs and cat that wander the streets searching for food and shelter. Thank you so much for writing this story about Stuart Carrie!
It's GREAT - and so are you!
I have to mention that Stuart was actually taken by our friend Andra to Craiova, Romania, for treatment and recovery by Dr. Aurelian. He did not stay in Timisoara.
Happy Holidays, and I wish you all the very best!
    Love,
    Nancy

I have an update from Nancy Janes: RAR did raise enough $$ to get Stuart on his way to his new home!!! Will let readers know when he arrives in the States. However, the RAR still needs funds for their many other projects in Romania, as do many of the rescue organizations I profile in this column. If you find an organization you like, please consider donating money or in-kind gifts to help them out. And thanks to everyone who helped Stuart and to all those who read this column. Happy Holidays!
