Phil Christus of St. Augustine, FL had a deep love for dogs, and it showed. Phil would go out of his way to help dogs and people. He rescued and owned 13 dogs that he passionately cared for every day. Mr. Christus suddenly passed away in November leaving the beloved canines without an owner. Fortunately a kind friend, Michelle Friedman, was willing to open her home to care for these dogs in the interim, but she needs help.
The majority of the dogs, one of which is 14 years old, are pit bull mixes. Ending up in an area shelter could mean death. Ms. Friedman is determined not to let any harm come to the dogs. To continue to provide care for the dogs’, she needs heartworm medication along with food and kennels for housing. A safe donation fundraising page has been established to help with those needs. Please visit the donation page to make a contribution and to view photos of the individual dogs.
The Dogs Deserve a Second Chance
Often we are the ones saying goodbye to our pets. In this situation, the dogs have lost the owner that they have known, trusted, and been loyal. Our pets become accustomed to being a part of our lives. I can’t imagine what these dogs must think when the owner never returns. Let’s help these deserving dogs find another home that will love them forever. The 14 year old dog will remain with Ms. Friedman, but the remaining 12 will need to find loving homes. The dogs range in color, size, and shape and are all seeking permanent homes for the holidays.
