Help people eat healthy while you get gorgeous hair with Davines

It's like they say: "Pretty is as pretty does." For the rest of this month and next, Davines -- the Italian luxe beauty company -- will be contributing to efforts to provide healthy food and a healthy planet. I was very happy to be hosted to experience it!

This April, Davines has their Sustainable Beauty Month where they will partner with The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation to raise money for the cause. When you purchase any of their zero impact at-home products (More Inside, Essential Collection, SU) from select salons or via e-commerce, 10% of profits will be donated to the charity. Davines will be donating their funds to various projects including a US-based organic fruit tree nursery benefiting regional food banks and under-served community schools, as well as a large fruit tree planting project in El Salvador. In addition, along with the e-commerce launch, which is happening next month, 1% of all online sales will be donated to 1% For The Planet. The organization is built with the mission to support and activate an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. http://www.davines.com/en/about-davines/sustainable-beauty

Each part of the world has its own beauty culture and Davines is inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Think of all the gorgeous art of the era, depicting delectable men and women. Who wouldn't want their hair?

I love that Davines' quality products are available in generous for travel sizes, still compliant for 3-1-1 carry-on travel bags.

OI is a conditioning mask that you can travel with -- perfect pick me up after flying in drying air -- that has as active ingredients apricot butter - hydrating and soothing; and roucou oil - to prevent hair aging, strong anti-oxidant action. It's a creamy, rather than super-thick texture, with a lush fragrance.

The corresponding shampoo is rich, pearlized and similarly beautifully scented.

At least with me, it takes a village to de-tangle my hair after a shower. Davines' OI line also has something for that: All in One Milk Multi-Benefit Beauty Treatment. With Pro-Vitamin B5 and roucou oil, it has the nutrients to fight damage of the comb. For more weaponry against frizz and damage, there's the OI Absolute Beautifying Potion, a spray oil for your naughty ends.

It's hard enough to find great styling products that don't gunk up your hair -- leave it still touchable -- and yet also is available in 3-1-1 carry-on travel sizes. Their Sea Salt Spray makes you look more contemporary. It will help you look sexy and relaxed. After all, if you're of a certain age, you really should be avoiding that "no hair out of place" helmet-y, styled, crazy preppy hair worked to a fare-thee-well. Those old styles make you look like your best days were pining after Nancy Reagan's red Adolfo dresses or even after Jackie Kennedy's pill box hats. Not cute.
