Help new dog rescue group at Wines 4 K9s fundraiser on Saturday

Love dogs?  Love wine?  Love fun?  How about helping a brand-new rescue group get on their paws in their mission to rescue needy canines?

Saturday evening in Escondido you can enjoy hors d’oeuvre, gourmet desserts, wine tasting with “The Corkhead” Sommelier Mark Stuart, live music, schmoozing with fellow dog-lovers, and more at the Wines 4 K9s fundraiser for  CA Labrador Retrievers and More Dog Rescue.

If you can’t make it to the paw-ty, consider pitching in with other desperately-needed help such as tax-deductible donations, fostering, transport of rescued dogs, or assisting at fundraisers and adoption events.

“We have so many dogs waiting to be exited from the shelter but we are, like so many rescues, short on manpower and funds,” said volunteer Lisa Peck.

Diane Kath and Dr. Steve Munday formed the group this spring so as to “rescue everyone (not just Labs) waiting in the shelter for a loving forever home,” Peck added.

According to the Mission Statement of CA Labrador Retrievers and More Dog Rescue (CLRMR):

“We will rescue Labradors and Retrievers, mixed and purebred, young and old, and as we can, other breeds in need. We will provide a soft bed, safety, medical care, training, and love to rehabilitate dogs so they can have a chance at life. We will partner with our trainers, veterinarians, families, and volunteers so we can provide lifelong support to the dogs we have rescued and rehomed. We will make time to have fun and enjoy the dogs we have saved!

“CLRMR’s mission expands beyond the scope of typical rescues. We seek to save and protect dogs at risk of not surviving the harsh realities of animal shelters.

“Seniors and dogs with medical challenges are received with open arms and committed hearts.

“CLRMR is making a difference in the lives of dogs every day, but our adoption fees barely cover the basic costs including spaying/neutering, shots, and the required shelter fees.

“CLRMR is a tax-exempt, non-profit 503(c)(3) corporation (EIN 45-1589323). All of our donations are used to rescue Labradors, Retrievers, and other breeds that need our help as our resources allow. Any donation made to CLRMR is tax deductible.”
