Help needed for two abandoned puppies

Jacksonville, FL– Two puppies, down on their luck – sickly and abandoned, were rescued just days ago.

The pups, now being called Hansel and Gretel, were discovered in a Wal-Mart parking lot…scavenging for tidbits of food in the trash.

The abandoned little souls – obviously suffering from mange, had nowhere to go. But when the London Sanctuary heard about their plight, founder Jay Cannaday sprang into action.

The sanctuary is full – but that didn’t stop Cannaday from stepping up to find a foster home. A Facebook plea was sent out and thankfully, someone responded.

Now, the rescue, already over-capacity, is desperately trying to raise funds to help these puppies receive all of the veterinary care that they will need to fully recover.

A Chip-In  has been created for Hansel and Gretel’s vetting expenses.

Donations can also be mailed directly to the rescue (a 501©3 non-profit organization) at PO Box 1914, Glen St. Mary, FL 32040, or to the veterinary clinic: Atlantic Veterinary Hospital, 11633 Philips Highway, Jacksonville, FL 32256 (904) 738-8391.

Some amazing people have already shown their big hearts for these two adorable puppies. The first Good Samaritan that took the time to help was actually the store manager of the Wal-Mart where the pups were scavenging for food.

Jay Cannaday of the London Sanctuary said yes – the pups could be taken in by the rescue organization, despite knowing that they came with guaranteed veterinary expenses.

And last, but not least, Paul Hester stepped forward to offer the puppies a safe haven to recovery.

Hester shared this of his new charges,

Yes, they are doing well, very happy puppies, lots of kisses and have 24/7 tv for their viewing pleasure. Poor things having this mange looks awful, but in spite of that they are beautiful babies!

Though someone failed Hansel and Gretel in the not-so-distant past, people are pulling together for them now.

Please share Hansel and Gretel’s story. Please help the London Sanctuary raise the funds for the veterinary care that these two little ones will require to be healthy again.

This is what rescues do – they act on blind faith when it comes to lives in need – hoping against hope that others will step in to help when the need becomes known.
