Help needed for Joplin's displaced pets

Area animal lovers have organized a relief effort to help the smallest victims of the Joplin, Mo., tornadoes. Donations and new or used animal care items are being collected between now and 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, for a delivery to Joplin Humane Society, leaving Friday morning. 

Please drop donations and items at one of these locations before 6 p.m. Thursday:

  • CD Source - 5500 Greenville Ave., Suite 201, Dallas
  • Doggie's Wonderland - 505 Alma Dr.,  Plano
  • Doggie's Wonderland - 120 E. Bethel School Rd., Coppell 

Please specify your donation is for Joplin. Items needed include new or used, but clean:

  • collapsible, wire/metal crates of all sizes
  • blankets
  • towels
  • leashes
  • collars
  • toys
  • treats
  • linens
  • contributions for fuel
