Help needed by no-kill organization for surrendered mare and her baby

See also

A beautiful paint mare and her baby were surrendered to the Ohio Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) on Tuesday along with four dogs and a very sick cat. The owners were no longer able to afford their pets.

Although most animal advocates have trouble understanding why owners continue to breed any animal when pet overpopulation is at such a critical point, at the very least the owners have to be commended for doing what was necessary and humane for their pets.

According to the organization's Facebook page on Wednesday, the cat is in serious condition.

We need veterinary funds now. Please consider being a part of our efforts to give animals a second chance at happiness. We can't do it alone. Love is free, but food and vet bills are not.
