Help for those underwater in their mortgage

Many families in Illinois and Chicago are still underwater with their mortgage and are in need of help. For this reason Governor Quinn created Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network in February, 2012; today they have formed a partnership with 68 counseling agencies working out of nearly 100 office locations across the state.

In an effort to reach more residents in trouble, this weekend the following events will be presented:

On Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. the Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network, Illinois Housing Development Authority, Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Illinois Department of Employment Security, Illinois Attorney General will sponsor: Mortgage Relief Project at Joliet Township High School – West Campus, 401 N. Larkin Ave., Joliet, IL. For more information call (800)-532-8785.

On Saturday, March 23, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. the South Side Community Federal Credit Union will sponsor: Foreclosure Prevention Workshop at 5401 S. Wentworth Ave., Suite 25, Chicago, IL. For more information call Delores Allen at (773)-548-8859.
