Nashville is a family community quick to come together when a brother or sister is in need. Join the community of hit songwriters on March 1st from 7 to11:30 pm at The Commodore, Holiday Inn Select on West End Ave. Hosted by Debi Champion for a benefit concert to help Haiti.
In January of 2010 a 7.0 magnitude earthquake shook the capital of Port-au-Prince where more than 150,000 people lost their lives. The Presidential Palace, Parliament, numerous businesses and countless homes were destroyed leaving the city in ruins.
David Ball and the Pioneer Playboys, Bernie Nelson, James Slater, Michael Peterson, Stan Webb, Walt Aldridge, Jerry Foster, Glen Tubb, Jimmy Payne and many more will be performing their chart topping hits. There is no cover charge, but donations will be greatly appreciated. There will be a silent auction with music memorabilia, artwork, pitch to publisher, co write opportunities and much more. Bring your dancing shoes and checkbooks and let’s make a difference. All proceeds will be going to UNICEF. Their focus is to help the children living in poverty in developing countries.
Not everyone is able to pack their bags and go to the places that need our help. In fact most people do not have the time or resources to do so. Here is your chance to make a difference with out leaving the city. Some of Nashville’s greatest songwriters are coming together to raise money for relief efforts. Thousands of children have lost everything. They are alone, scared and need our help.
Haitians are no strangers to blood swept streets. The nation has struggled since its creation. It is the poorest country in the Americas. Hardship is their way of life. Maybe some good can come from this destructive earthquake; to raise awareness to their struggle.
On March 1st at the Commodore from 7 to 11:30 pm the hit songwriters of Nashville are joining together to help Haiti one song at a time. You too can make a difference! Join us!
