Help Felicia Barton with her debut solo album

The music industry is changing. Through YouTube, iTunes, Facebook, and other social networking websites it is becoming increasingly easier for musicians, bands, and artists to get their music heard without the help of a record label. And now, there's Kickstarter, a very tangible way for artists to create their art and make it available for the masses.

With the support of listeners and fans that believe in the cause, a musician can raise the money they need to make a full length album. This makes it possible to cover the cost of production, mixing, mastering, artwork, printing, musicians, and everything else it takes to release a record. With the fans essentially becoming the record label as they back a Kickstarter project, there are rewards for each level of support, as well as the rewarding feeling of bringing a creative dream to life.

One independent artist taking advantage of this new, revolutionary tool is Virginia Beach's own Felicia Barton. As a former American Idol contestant, recently relocated in Nashville, Tennessee, Felicia is putting the finishing touches on her debut solo album, an EP called, "Lost Words". "The sound, feel, and songs are finally in place," she said about her new music. "It's just all of that technical stuff that I need help with! I still have to mix, master, get artwork done, print the cds, marketing material, pay musicians... the list really goes on and on!" This is where you come in.

To help Felicia Barton raise the money she needs to finalize and release her EP, "Lost Words", click here. Kickstarter's unique "all-or-nothing" funding method makes it imperative for an artist to get all the pledges of support needed to fully fund the project. If the goal is not reached by the ending date of the project, the artist does not receive any of the money promised towards the project. In order to make this album a reality, Felicia needs $3,719 to reach her goal of $10,000 in the next eleven days. Back Felicia's project today and reap the rewards, including a pre-release of her album, exclusive songs, t-shirts, personal vocal coaching lessons, songs written just for you, and even a house concert if you are particularly generous in your pledge!

*This project ends Tuesday, July 26th, at 7:48 am Eastern and must reach $10,000 pledged in order for the release of this record to be made possible.

"This new EP has been a journey for me!", Felicia explains, "Thanks to Kickstarter we now have a way to make it happen!"
