Darry Miller & The Veil are a Lancaster, PA-based R&B band with heavy influences in soul, blues, pop, and classic rock. With a rich, full sound reminiscent of Motown groups in the 1960's and a magnetic stage presence, this five-piece band is impossible to ignore when in their element. Performing an array of original songs, as well as covers from legends such as Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding, their concerts draw in fans of all ages and garner many positive reviews.
Having played for a Radio 104.5 "Live at 5" studio session and Summer Block Party show in 2012, Darry Miller & The Veil are already familiar with the Philadelphia music scene. They were recently selected as one of the top 25 bands to open the Radio 104.5 6th Birthday Show at the Susquehanna Bank Center on May 12, 2013. The annual celebration also features Paramore, Silversun Pickups, Passion Pit, and more. Voting for the local band to win the opening slot can be done once every 24 hours until Sunday, March 24, at which time the contestants are narrowed down the the top four. As an additional incentive, everyone who votes is registered to win a pair of pit tickets to the show. The second round of voting will begin March 26 to April 7, 2013, and the winner will be announced after a performance by the final four on April 20 at The XYZ Bar.
