Santa Paula Hospital known for its picturesque view fell on hard times and was unable to resolve its financial troubles in December 2003. They had no choice but to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When they closed their doors, it was a tragedy for the community.
Fortunately, the County of Ventura recognized the hospital's potential, and purchased it for $2.75 million dollars, in September 2005. They invested $4.5 million dollars with state of the art equipment, and renovations. The hospital reopened in July 2006, and has steadily out performed profitability expectations.
