The Santa Paula residents decided in 1961 with generous community donations, to fund and build Santa Paula Hospital. The hospital sits at the end of curvy North 10th Street in Santa Paula, California.

Santa Paula Hospital known for its picturesque view fell on hard times and was unable to resolve its financial troubles in December 2003. They had no choice but to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. When they closed their doors, it was a tragedy for the community.

Fortunately, the County of Ventura recognized the hospital's potential, and purchased it for $2.75 million dollars, in September 2005. They invested $4.5 million dollars with state of the art equipment, and renovations. The hospital reopened in July 2006, and has steadily out performed profitability expectations.

Santa Paula Hospital offers a comprehensive list of inpatient and outpatient services and full-service departments for diagnostic procedures. The help you need is at the top of the 10th Street hill for situations requiring medical services. At your service are a 24-7 emergency room, life flight helicopter, emergency surgery, laboratory work, and medical clinic ready to treat any emergency or non-emergency situation. In addition, patients benefit from the latest clinical trials and research provided by their association with UCLA Medical Center.

Santa Paula Hospital offers many different rewarding volunteer opportunities. Their pool of volunteers gives important moral support to patients, and provides assistance to departments where needed.
