Angel Dog Rescue (ADR) is an animal rescue organization in South Georgia that is dedicated to fighting abuse and neglect - one animal at a time. Their mission is “to rescue and provide humane treatment, medical care and homes for homeless and abused dogs in and around, but not limited to Quitman County and surrounding counties in Georgia, and Barbour County in Alabama.” (from their Facebook page) The volunteers of ADR also spend substantial amounts of time educating others about humane treatment and pet overpopulation.
ADR is currently soliciting donations to support a special rescue mission – transporting at least 10 dogs from south Georgia to other parts of the country where they have a better chance at a happily ever after. Below is what was posted on their fundraising page:
Angel Dog Rescue volunteers will be pulling out on the 21st of this month! We will be headed to Denver CO. We will be taking over 10 dogs with us that will go into rescues and foster homes! We will make this trip in three days! Whew, we will be tired but it will be so worth it! But, before we can hit the road we need to be able to pay for things like gas, vehicle, and well a place to lay our head at night! We are working to get any freebies we can and if not the best deals we can. By getting these dogs into new homes it will allow us to rescue more dogs in need. While we are a no kill shelter, we have limited room! And, we are currently full to the max! Please help us help these amazing babies start their new lives!
ADR has received $780 of the $1000 they need to fund this lifesaving trip. Click here to donate and help save the lives of dogs in south Georgia.
