Parents everywhere are shocked about the news that came out recently from Sanrio. Little girls everywhere love Hello Kitty and to them she is an adorable cat. On Wednesday, People shared that it is now out that she is not a cat but is a little girl instead. This one is really confusing.

Christine R. Yano has been studying this cat for years. She finally came to the conclusion that it was not a cat though. Yano was preparing for a big exhibit and sent her notes to Sanrio to look at and they explained to her she was wrong on one thing.

Here is what she had to say, "I was corrected – very firmly. That's one correction Sanrio made for my script for the show. Hello Kitty is not a cat. She's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat. She's never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it's called Charmmy Kitty."

Little girls everywhere will be confused if they hear this news. Just remember Hello Kitty is not a cat.
