Hellcats returns as zombies

After a much too long hiatus, Ashley Tisdale, Aly Michalka, Heather Hemmens, Robbie Jones, and Matt Barr will all be returning to the CW hit, Hellcats on Tuesday, April 19.

The show left us at Barr's character's brother's wedding where Tisdale's character, Savannah and Michalka's character, Marti, were trying to figure out which one of them he wants to be with. Dan chooses Savannah, of course, and they dance the night away.

Fast forward a month or so, and the cheerleaders of Lancer are fighting off zombies. Nope, not a typo. Tisdale, Jones and Hemmens all tell me what the fans of Hellcats can expect when the show makes its highly anticipated return to the small screen.

I caught up with Tisdale at the media day for her straight-to-DVD release of Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, a spin-off of her High School Musical days.

"It's a really great episode on Hellcats, because Dan, Matt Barr, now goes to Lancer as a film student and puts together a little film with zombies, and it's the cheerleaders vs. zombies. I had to cock a shotgun, with one hand, and they're heavy, they're really heavy. It's one of the craziest episodes," Ashley Tisdale tells me for Hollyscoop

Jones and Hemmens were both excited about the return of the show at the NYLON Magazine party.

"We have a few more episodes coming up, high drama, more cheerleading drama of course, a couple of twists and turns," Jones tells me for Hollyscoop.

When mentioning Lewis and Alice getting back together, Jones put fans on the edge of their seats.

"I can say that it's not too far out of the question. There might be some sparks elsewhere, but you never know. Lewis and Alice they might not be finished," says Jones.

"Andy Finkman directed it. Dan Patch makes a short film about zombies and all of the Hellcats star in his short film. We play the zombies and the zombie slayers. It's going to be fun," Hemmens tells me for Hollyscoop.

Before the show went on hiatus, rumors were floating around that Michalka's sister, AJ, was going to join the cast. Hemmens gives me the low-down of the newest Hellcat.

"That episode premieres [AJ] as well. It's a really interesting relationship. I can't give spoilers, but it's a lot of fun, and the girls are so good together," says Hemmens.

If that's not enough to reserve your seat on the couch Tuesday night, then you just must not be into thrilling TV.
