March looks to be a busy month and it’s also refreshing to see the trend of wartime horror continue. Last year films like Frankenstein's Army showed that the sub genre has some depth which also includes titles like Dead Snow and the Outpost franchises. Add Armistice to the list as a film looking to bring more of psychological angle to the military style of terror.
In the role of Royal Marine, A.J. Budd, Joseph Morgan stars in this brutal psychological and supernatural thriller, in which he finds himself trapped in the Warhouse. Imprisoned, he is forced to fight for his life against grotesque, inhuman opponents. He must kill every day or die himself. His one glimmer of hope comes in the form of a diary, left by a former occupant of the house, WWI Lieutenant Edward Sterling, played by Matt Ryan.
The trailer just looks like a teaser for the brutality inflicted in Armistice. The most curious aspect of the film involves why the soldier is trapped there and who is conducting the experiments on these monsters. In Battle Royale fashion he must fight or die each day to move on. Look for Armistice on DVD March 11th. The film is directed by Luke Massey and is being distributed courtesy of XLrator Media.
