‘Hell’s Kitchen’ Season 11 contestant profile: Amanda Giblin

Chef Amanda Giblin joins the 20-contestant lineup for Season 11 of “Hell’s Kitchen,” celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s popular reality television cooking competition. The roster, revealed February 27, includes 10 female and 10 male chefs from across the United States.

The hopeful contestant posted these lines February 27 on her Twitter page:

I can officially announce I am competing on Hells Kitchen Season 11. Tune in 3/12 at 8pm to watch the wildest season yet!

The program returns March 12 with its eleventh season premiere, opening with a signature dish competition filmed before a live Las Vegas audience.

Who is “Hell’s Kitchen” contestant Amanda Giblin?

Twenty-eight-year-old Giblin hails from Orange County, New York, where she works as a chef at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets in the Big Apple. Originally from New Jersey, Giblin is a music enthusiast and enjoys the New York City nightlife.

Giblin attended Johnson and Wales University, where she studied culinary arts. A fan of such recording artists as Mariah Carey, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Taylor Swift and Chely Wright, she is also active in LGBT issues.

The “Hell’s Kitchen” contestant’s signature dish is Pan-Seared Sea Scallops over Roasted Corn and Crispy Prosciutto Risotto.

Winning the Season 11 title for “Hell’s Kitchen” would make Giblin something of a culinary celebrity, although she tweeted this in 2011:

I wish a celebrity would tweet me with the words, "I would like to hire you as my personal chef!" #dreaming

Themed “Get Out,” the eleventh season of “Hell’s Kitchen” debuts March 12 on Fox TV, beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The contestant cooks will compete for the prize of a head chef position, working under Executive Chef Jeremy Berlin at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill at Caesars Palace.
