British actress Helena Bonham Carter was sporting some very interesting long natty dreadlocks as she attended a special screening of her new film “Burton and Taylor” at the 21st Annual Hamptons International Film Festival on October 12, 2013 in East Hampton, New York.
Attending with the BBC America’s 90-minute drama’s producer Lachlan MacKinnon and director Richard Laxton, Bonham Carter wore a couple of interesting outfits as well including a most unusual wraparound black dress with dressy black pumps.
Helena also posed for photos earlier with Hamptons International Film Festival Artistic Director David Nugent in her blue floral dress with pale pink “sakura” Japanese cherry blossom flowers, which she teamed with distressed brown leather boots with grunge appeal – albeit with spiked heels!
The 47-year-old actress spoke about her role as the late actress Elizabeth Taylor, who was married to British actor Richard Burton, saying “she had so many facets to her character and had so many different colors to her…She had a great sense of humor. I didn’t know she could be such a clown, and that’s what attracted me to her.”
“Burton and Taylor” focuses on chronicling the 1983 theatrical production of the Noel Coward play “Private Lives” staring the legendary acting duo who were also married to each other – and divorced – twice!
Written by William Ivory (the other half of Merchant and Ivory!) the biography also stars Dominic West as Richard Burton, Isabella Brazier-Jones as Maria Burton, Lucille Sharp as Liza Todd Burton and Cassie Raine as Sally Burton.
“Burton and Taylor” will air on BBC America on October 16, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
