After an exciting season of college football, the Heisman Trophy 2013 winner will be crowned in tonight’s live stream presentation on ESPN, with a TV scheduled start time of 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT/5 p.m. PT). According to a Dec. 14 ESPN report, there's very little mystery as to who will win the highest individual award in college football this season.
It comes as no surprise that out of the six finalists, Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is the longshot favorite to take home the hardware in tonight's presentation, which will also be streaming live on WatchESPN/ESPN3 (replay).
According to Heisman Trophy 2013 betting odds, the Seminoles signal-caller is a 1/150 favorite against a field with 50/1 odds of pulling off the upset.
Winston, who led top-ranked FSU to a perfect 13-0 record and a chance to play in the Jan. 6, 2013 BCS Championship Game against Auburn, is coming off one of the greatest rookie seasons ever.
With his arm, the 6-foot-4, 218-pound Alabaman native finished the regular season with 237/349 completions (68 percent) for 3820 yards (293.8 Avg.), 38 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a quarterback rating of 190.1.
The Noles' dual-threat also showcased an ability to move the sticks on the ground, rushing for 193 yards on 77 carries and 4 scores. Thus, the Florida State Seminoles are the early favorite to defeat the second-ranked Auburn Tigers in the 2014 BCS Title Game.
According to Las Vegas' NCAA football oddsmakers, Florida State [-7½] is favored by just over a touchdown and a PAT against Auburn [+7½], and the OVER/UNDER is set at a combined total of 68 points.
