On Saturday, April 26, the Audience Awards were presented at the Tribeca Film Festival wrap party, sponsored by Heineken, the official beer of the Festival. Throughout the Festival, viewers had the chance to vote for their favorite films by completing nomination ballots after each screening. Held at the posh Flatiron lounge, Slate, Festival Director Geoffrey Gilmore announced the winning entries going to “Chef” for best dramatic film and "Keep On Keepin' On" for best documentary. Each film received $25,000 in cash prizes.

“Chef,” stars and is written and directed by Jon Favreau, who is also known for directing blockbusters such as “Iron Man 2” and “Cowboys & Aliens”. “Keep On Keepin’ On,” a Kickstarter-financed effort is directed by filmmaker Alan Hicks. Accepting on Jon Favreau’s behalf was actor Bobby Cannavale who also starred in the film. Check out Cannavale’s winning speech:

Thank you! Jonathan had to fly back to LA and promote the film. I’m going to be quick so you can go back to drinking your Heineken. Heineken sponsored this party, so drink a lot of Heineken! Jon wanted me to tell you he’s a native New Yorker and is really proud to have his movie in this festival. He made it for no money - it’s a true independent film. He was excited to see it the other night with a 900 people audience with such a positive reception. Thank you, thank you very much and for voting for us.

Attendees of the night also included “The Following” star Felix Solis, “Five Star” actor James 'Primo' Grant as well as directors Onur Tukel and Dan Schechter amongst others.
