Some people lose weight by exercising for hours in the gym, while others go on drastic diets. A few resort to weight loss surgery. And then there's Heidi Montag, who lost six pounds by having her breast implants removed, reported Us Weekly on December 3.
Heidi made the decision to reduce her breasts because of pain. Weighing three pounds each, the implants caused neck and back aches, she explained.
The breast reduction procedure took Heidi from a size F to a size C. Heidi made it clear that she was desperate to have the implants removed.
"I couldn't conceptualize the weight of them in my body," she declared. "They felt like bowling balls on my chest."
In addition, the responses that she received bothered her.
I felt inappropriate. Guys would stare at me really creepily and felt they had the right to because I had such big boobs," complained Heidi.
Adding to her motivation: Her doctor's warning.
"He told me they were falling through the bottom, and I got scared," she admitted. "It's super dangerous. They can fall through to your belly button!"
Now that the surgery is over and Heidi has recovered, she feels transformed.
"I'm the new, new, new Heidi!" she declared.
In addition to the surgery, Heidi is careful about maintaining her current weight.
"I was actually a lot overweight," she claimed, telling Us previously that she weighed 130 pounds at one point. "It was the most I've ever been because I've kind of been in hiding eating pie with my husband and puppies, so I needed to get back in shape."
So she dieted, sacrificing her favorite foods like pie and fried chicken, according to the New York Daily News.
"I've been running a lot, and I've been doing weights," she said. "When you work out, you boost your metabolism."
And now that she's lost those six-pound implants, running should be easier, too - with no fear of anything falling "through to your belly button."
