September 27, 2011 - The heckler that lashed out at Bristol Palin at a bar, insulting her mom, Sarah Palin, apologized to her on Tuesday.
After the video showing the heckler yelling and pointing his finger at Bristol, the man has admitted that he made a mistake.
In a statement released by his lawyer to E! News, Stephen Hanks said the following:
"Having had an opportunity to view the camera footage of the incident this past Thursday at the Saddle Ranch Bar & Chop House in West Hollywood, and having reflected on the incident over the weekend, I have come to the conclusion that no matter what my feelings are towards Sarah Palin, I should not have expressed them towards her daughter, Bristol Palin."
Apparently, according to E! News, Hanks' lawyer, Michael J. Guiden, claims that his client began receiving many threats against him and his family after the video went public. In turn, Hanks was forced to shut down all of his online social media accounts.

Hanks maintains that his political views are his own, not necessarily that of his friends or work colleagues and also apologized to them for his poor judgement. "I expressed my feelings in an improper manner in the heat of the moment, and allowed my emotions to get the better of me." He added.
During the heated confrontation, Hanks called Sarah Palin a whore, adding she belonged in hell. Bristol asked him if he felt that way because he was a homosexual, insinuating he hated her because of a common belief that Sarah is against all gays.
Bristol went on to ask for an example that proved her mom was a whore, but Hanks just kept on yelling at her and saying her Sarah was the devil. When Bristol walked away, Hanks kept yelling and calling Bristol herself a f***en bitch.
"Acknowledging that the exchange between Mr. Hanks and Bristol has generated a lot of media interest and debate," the statement added, "Mr. Hanks would like to put the incident behind him, and hopes that the media and public will respect his rights and privacy."
Additionally, Hanks revealed that he was not aware that the incident was being filmed for Bristol's new reality TV show, which would debunk recent accusations that the whole thing was set up by Bristol's TV crew company.
