A warm front will lift northward across the area this morning. Showers and thunderstorm ahead of this front have already reached western Ohio. This activity will move across northeastern Ohio later this morning into the early afternoon hours. Enough cold air could remain for a little sleet to mix with the rain at the onset, but this should be brief.

The warm front will lift north of the area this afternoon, and much warmer and more unstable air will overspread the area from the south. However, rainfall through the mid to late afternoon hours should be limited. As the air warms, stronger winds aloft will begin to mix down to the surface. Winds across the area will increase with gusts in excess of 40 mph possible by late in the day.

Showers and thunderstorms will spread back across the area this evening as a cold front sweeps across the state. The strongest storms will move across the area from late this evening into the early morning hours Friday. These storms could be accompanied by strong winds and very heavy rainfall. The combination of rain and melting snow could cause flooding.

Once the cold front passes to our east, temperatures will fall and the showers will taper off, possibly as a little wet snow.

Friday will be windy, with only a slight chance of a rain or snow shower.

A cold front will push south across the region Saturday with a threat of rain or snow showers.

Here is the forecast: For today, showers and thunderstorms likely from late morning through early afternoon, then becoming mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs will rise to around 50 degrees by late this afternoon. Winds SE 10-20 mph with higher gusts this afternoon.

Tonight, windy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Some storms could be severe with damaging winds possible. Rain showers may change to snow showers well after midnight. Lows will fall to the mid to upper 30s. Winds S 15-25 mph with higher gusts.

Friday, mostly cloudy and windy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs will be in the low to mid 40s. Winds SW 20-30 mph with higher gusts.

Friday night, partly cloudy with lows in the mid to upper 20s.

Saturday, mostly cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. Highs on Saturday will be in the low to mid 40s, but temperatures will fall during the afternoon.
