Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms possible Tuesday through Wednesday

Discussion

Southeast Texas will see one more day of dry weather before wet conditions return on Tuesday. A strong trough of low pressure will be approaching Texas and this storm system will cause widespread showers and thunderstorms to develop across the state. This system will be slow moving and powerful, therefore severe thunderstorms and flash flooding will be possible across the eastern half of Texas. Rainfall totals will likely range from 1 to 4 inches along and east of IH-35 by Thursday night. Mostly sunny skies will return on Thursday, out ahead of the next storm system that will bring us another chance of rain by next weekend.
