Heating up: 'America's Got Talent' adds Heidi Klum as a fourth judge

"America's Got Talent" just signed a hot new judge. Heidi Klum tweeted on Monday that she was signed to be a fourth judge on the reality talent show. She came in just under the wire -- the show begins taping its new season on Monday.

Her tweet said:

Excited 2 join @HowardStern @HowieMandel @OfficialMelB & @nickcannon on @nbcagt as new judge! Will be so fun! #AGT http://twitpic.com/c8lml0

Along with the tweet, Klum shared a mocked-up photo (above) showing her and her other three judges, Howie Mandel, Howard Stern, and Mel B ("Spice Girls").

Klum confirmed the news on Monday, but it was first reported by TMZ on Sunday. TMZ obtained a photo of the "AGT" set which clearly displayed the name "Heidi" underneath her own personal judge's "X." For those wondering, it's Howie, Mel B, Heidi, and Howard from left to right, as viewed on-screen.

The 39-year-old Klum isn't a stranger to television, and particularly reality TV. She previously served as a judge on "Project Runway" and Germany's "Next Top Model." She has also executive produced a number of series.

Viewers may recall that Sharon Osborne left the series after the last season.

"America's Got Talent" is just one series from the global British "Got Talent" franchise. The American version of the show debuted in June 2006 for the summer television season. Since season three, the prize awarded to the winner includes $1 million dollars, payable in a financial annuity over 40 years (or the present cash value of such an annuity), and a show as the headliner on the Las Vegas Strip.
