Heather Elvis case: Family of missing SC woman thanks supporters

The family of missing South Carolina woman, Heather Elvis, 20, thanked supporters on Jan. 15, 2014 for the help they've received in connection with the search for her, according to WBTW.

“To those of you who have been amazingly supportive with your kind words, thoughts, prayers, well-wishes, volunteering, donations, passing out of flyers, food, advertising on billboards or anything that I’ve missed, thank you,” the family’s Facebook message read.

The post continued, “Thank you for writing to the different media outlets. Thank you for passing the word along of Heather’s disappearance. We cannot begin to tell you how important your part has been through this journey with us. We appreciate you more than you know… and we don’t get to tell you that enough.”

Heather went missing in the early morning hours of Dec. 18 after being dropped off at her apartment by her date, who authorities say is not a suspect in her disappearance.

According to The State, a police report filed on Dec. 19 indicates Heather’s vehicle was discovered at Peachtree boat and landing, just a day after she vanished.

Terry Elvis, Heather’s father, has stated the last time he heard from his daughter was on Dec. 17 at around 10:43 p.m. when she sent him a text message.

The State reports there is a $25,000 reward for information about Heather’s whereabouts.

Her family has created a Facebook page, FindHeatherElvis in an effort to locate her.
