Thanks to a loss by the New York Knicks to the Indiana Pacers, the Miami Heat retain their top place in the Eastern Conference after a 90-92 defeat to the Portland Trail Blazers on Jan. 10, 2013. Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and crew got off to a great start in the first half taking the lead into the break 52-39.
However, the second half saw the home crowd and the home team come back with a bit more fight in them. The Trail Blazers rallied to out score the visitors in the second half scoring 53 points and holding their opposition to only 38 in a complete reversal of the opening two quarters.
Portland are now 12-3 in the last 15 games and are surging up the Western Conference standings. Lebron James was held to only 15 points in an off night for the superstar who scored the lowest amount of points in his last total 76 games according to ESPN and the Associated Press.
Miami next travel to the Sacremento Kings who were defeated in overtime by the Dallas Mavricks in their last outing on Jan. 10, 2013 and Portland head to face the Golden State Warriors later this evening of Jan. 11, 2013.
