The 2014 NBA live stream and televised games schedule reveals a potentially-exciting doubleheader for basketball fans on Friday, Jan. 10. In the first of these games, LeBron James and the Miami Heat will visit the surging Brooklyn Nets, led by Deron Williams. The Nets have recently become among the playoff-contending teams in the Eastern Conference, making this a potential showdown for the 2014 postseason. The latest televised and live streaming NBA games on the schedule arrives Friday night courtesy of ESPN's sports networks.

A report via Miami Herald on Jan. 10 notes that the Heat will come into this game after suffering a disappointing 109-102 loss to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden last night. The Brooklyn Nets (14-21) had the night off and should be rested up for this home game, where they are 9-9 this season. The Heat, with last night’s loss, dropped to 11-6 on the road. In that game, they were outscored 59-44 in the second half by a Knicks team that shot 63.2% from the field. LeBron James told the media with regards to the loss:

"They played great. They made some timely shots. I thought Raymond (Felton) played great defense and did a good job of putting those guys in positions to succeed."

While the Knicks are currently on the outside looking in for the Eastern Conference playoff teams, the Nets have recently played their way into eight place. If the playoffs started today, they’d face the East’s Indiana Pacers, who currently own the best record in the conference. The Nets are also currently 3 1/2 games back from the Atlantic Division’s first place. Recently-acquired superstar Kevin Garnett, who arrived during the offseason in a blockbuster deal, told the media about his team’s surge:

"The confidence is in the fight. Jason's (Kidd) done a great job of just continuing to explain what he wants out of this offense and I think we're picking it up slowly but surely."

Friday night’s game is the final game of a four-game home stand for the Nets. Among their wins, they also took down the Golden State Warriors 102-98, which ended a ten-game winning streak for Golden State. Tonight they’ll play another team whose win streak they broke in the Miami Heat, as the Nets won back on Nov. 1 to end a 13-game streak by Miami. Will the Nets find a way to win yet again, or will Miami bounce back from last night’s loss to New York? One would have to think LeBron and company will play much better than last night.

Odds makers have Miami as tonight’s favorites by 5-points at various sports books, after first opening as five point favorites. The over/under is currently set at about 194 1/2 points after opening at 197 points. Deron Williams is one key injury for the Nets, as the star point guard is listed as out. Brooklyn is also without Brook Lopez, who is out for the season.

Friday night's NBA game featuring the Heat vs. Nets will be on live TV starting at 8 p.m. EST. This game is presented in standard and hi-definition formats for TV viewers on ESPN. Also, this game will be live streaming online via the WatchESPN broadband sports network, also beginning at 8 p.m. EST. The WatchESPN service is provided as a free courtesy to various cable and satellite companies' customers around the nation. See more details here on how to watch this game and others online.
